Half of what you spend isn’t only yours

Rent, the weekly shop, the car, the holiday somebody booked in February. Two people paid for all of it, out of two apps that each know only the half their owner paid for.

So it ends up somewhere else. A spreadsheet nobody has opened since March, a screenshot in a chat, or the sentence “I think we’re about even” — which is what people say when neither of them knows.

Put the account itself in both apps and there is nothing left to reconcile.

It takes an email address

No bank connection, no shared password, and nothing for them to set up first. If they don't have Wealtie yet, the invitation still opens and tells them what they are being offered.

STEP ONE

You send it

Their email address and the role you want them to have. Editor or viewer — those are the only two an invitation can carry.

STEP TWO

They open it

A link, not a code. It shows the account, the role and what that role can do, and it stays valid for 7 days. Until they answer you can resend it or cancel it.

STEP THREE

It is in both apps

The account appears in their list beside their own, with its balance and every transaction on it. From then on you are both looking at the same thing.

Three roles, and you can only hand out two

Owner is not on the menu. An invitation carries editor or viewer and nothing else, so there is no sequence of taps that gives away the account by accident.

OwnerNOT INVITABLE
Full access, can manage members
Editor
Can view and add transactions
Viewer
Can only view balance and transactions

The owner taps a role to change it, and nothing already recorded moves. A viewer is read-only. If one tries to add a transaction the app stops them rather than letting it through and tidying up afterwards.

One account, three answers to whose money it is

Sharing an account and pooling the money in it are two different decisions. This is the second one, and you can change your mind about it later without starting a new account.

Per person
Track how much of the balance belongs to each person

One account, but it remembers whose money is whose. For a joint card that never stopped being two people's money.

Per person is the one worth understanding. The account has a single balance the bank would recognise, and underneath it Wealtie keeps a figure for each of you, so the question “how much of this is mine” has an answer that is not a negotiation.

A shop for eighty-four euros, and whose it was

On a per-person account there is one more question before a transaction is saved: whose was it? Three answers, and the last one lets you type a figure each.

Custom amounts
Type a figure per person. It has to add up to the total exactly, to the cent.
€50.00 + €34.60 = €84.60

Custom amounts have to come to the total exactly. Not near it, not rounded to it — Wealtie checks in whole cents and tells you what you are out by, because a split that is a penny off is a balance that will be wrong for as long as the account exists.

Every line says who put it there

A shared account with anonymous entries is a shared account you end up arguing about.

Added by, on the transaction

Transactions on a shared account carry the name of whoever entered them, categories show whose they are, and Analytics has a switch between your own money and everything you share. Nothing about the shared account leaks into your personal figures unless you ask for it.

Told, or left alone

Each person decides, for each shared account, whether a push arrives when somebody else adds a transaction. It is your setting, not the owner’s — one of you can watch every entry land and the other can hear nothing until they open the app.

One of you pays. The other one just joins.

Sharing is a Pro feature, and it is a Pro feature for exactly one person: whoever owns the account and sends the invitation.

THE PERSON YOU INVITE
  • ✓Joins on whatever plan they already have, free included
  • ✓Is never asked to upgrade to accept
  • ✓Sees the balance and every transaction on that account
  • ✓Adds and edits transactions, if you made them an editor
  • ✓Chooses their own notifications, and can leave whenever they like
THE PERSON WHO OWNS IT

Needs Pro to invite anybody. In exchange they get the whole of it: however many people are actually on the money, per-person balances, splitting, roles they can change at any time, and the only hand on the account itself.

What people ask before they share one

No. Sharing is a Pro feature for the person who owns the account and does the inviting. Whoever they invite joins on whatever plan they are already on, including the free one, and is never asked to upgrade to accept.

No. You share one account, not your app. Membership is held per account, so the person you invite sees that account's balance and transactions and nothing else — not your other accounts, not your total, not your budgets or goals.

Invite them as a viewer. They see the balance and every transaction and cannot add or change anything; the app refuses it if they try. You can move somebody between editor and viewer later by tapping the role on their row, and neither change touches what is already recorded.

Yes, at every stage. An invitation that has not been accepted can be cancelled or resent, and it expires on its own after seven days. A member can be removed by the owner, and anyone who is not the owner can leave on their own. Nobody but the owner can manage members or delete the account.

SHARE THE FIRST ONE

It takes one email address and about a minute

Add the account, invite the person you already share the money with, and pick whether they can add to it or only look. They will be in it before you have finished explaining it.
