Which one fits you

YNAB is a good app. Whether it's the right one depends on a few things only you know.

Choose YNAB if

  • You want transactions imported from your bank, and your bank is one YNAB supports.
  • You budget with the zero-based method โ€” every dollar given a job โ€” and want an app built around it.
  • You want a web app as well as a phone app.

Choose Wealtie if

  • You'd rather not connect a bank at all, or yours isn't supported.
  • You want a free plan rather than a trial.
  • Your accounts are in more than one currency.
  • You want a warning in the middle of the month and a streak for every month you keep the budget.

What people switch for

Budget Health
Where this month's pace ends, said while there's still most of the month left.
Two streaks
One for months inside the budget, one for months the income goal was reached.
An income goal
A target to reach, separate from the limit, built for income that moves.
68 currencies
Each account in its own, one total in yours, on the free plan.

What people ask when they compare

Yes. Wealtie has a free plan with no time limit: a monthly budget and income goal, Budget Health, streaks, two accounts and ten categories. YNAB has a 34-day trial and then costs $14.99 a month or $109 a year. Wealtie Pro is $5.99 a month or $59.99 a year.

No. Wealtie gives you one spending limit and one income target, which you can split by category, and warns you mid-month if your pace will take you over. You don't have to assign every dollar before you spend it.

Wealtie never connects to a bank. Every account is added with its current balance and you log what you spend, with rent and subscriptions set to repeat so they log themselves.
