Rent is due on the 1st. So is the entry.
Tell Wealtie once what repeats, how often and how many times. On the day it’s due, the payment is in your list and counted against the month, whether or not you opened the app.
Half of next month is already decided
Rent, the phone contract, the gym, a couple of subscriptions. You know each of them to the cent, months in advance, and they’re usually the largest numbers of the month.
They’re also the first thing people stop typing in, because typing in something you already knew feels like admin. A budget without its rent in it looks wonderful until the 1st.
Write each one down once, and every month starts with them already in it.
How often, and how many times
A rule is an amount, an account, a category, a frequency and the date of the next payment. The count is optional, and it's what turns a membership into something that ends.
- Daily
- Weekly
- Bi-Weekly
- Monthly
- Quarterly
- Yearly
A twelve-month gym contract is a monthly rule with a count of 12. The card shows how far in you are — 10/12 in August — and after the twelfth payment it stops by itself, so there’s no thirteenth to delete in a year’s time.
Leave the count empty and it runs until you stop it. Income works the same way: a retainer that pays on the 5th fills the income goal on the 5th.
On the day, where you are
A payment due on the 1st is logged in the first hour of the 1st in your own time zone — not the server's — and only after the new month's budget has opened. So rent on the 1st of September counts against September.

- Never twice
- Each payment date is claimed before anything is written. A date that's been paid is stepped over, even if the rule is edited back onto it.
- Moves with you
- Change time zone and the 1st is still the 1st, on the new clock. The day stays put when the clocks go forward or back, too.
- Like anything you log
- The account balance moves, the budget or income goal moves, and the row has your category on it. Nothing marks it as second-class.
Pause it. Don’t delete it.
Cancelled a subscription for the summer? Switch the rule off. It goes grey, logs nothing, and keeps its details for when you switch it back on.
- Running
- Green, with the next date. A rule with a count shows how far in it is.
- Paused
- Grey, amount included, so you can still see what it would cost. Nothing is logged while it's off.
- Finished
- A rule that has reached its count stops. Switch it on again and the count starts over — 0/12 — instead of ending straight away.
On a shared account everyone sees the rules, and a rule somebody else made says who — “Added by Jane Smith” — and stays theirs to change.
One on Free. Make it the rent.
Every part of a rule works on Free. The difference is how many.
- One recurring rule, income or expense
- All six frequencies, and an optional count
- Logged on the day, in your time zone
- Pause and resume whenever you like
What people ask before they hand it over
By itself. On the due date the transaction appears in your list, on the account you chose, and counts against that month's budget like anything you'd typed in. There's nothing to confirm.
Edit the rule and every payment after that uses the new amount. Payments it has already logged stay as they were.
A monthly payment set for the 31st lands on the last day of any month that doesn't have one — 28 February, 30 April — and goes back to the 31st when the month allows it.
No. Each payment date is claimed before anything is written, and a date that's already been paid is never paid again — not after a restart, not if two servers look at it at once.
One. Pro removes the limit. If the one you pick is rent, that's already the biggest number of the month taken care of.
Next month’s rent can already be in
Add the account you pay it from, set the amount and the 1st, and leave it. You'll see it in the list on the morning it's due.
